Chenier’s Marinette Garden Center, LLC is a local family business with over 40 years of horticulture experience. Our mission is to provide a quality, homegrown, and unique product on a timely basis.
Years ago, the Chenier family always went to the farmers market. I remember long Friday nights the cleaning, with a toothbrush, and bunching of vegetables, for 5 a.m. Saturday.
In 1976, my dad started growing his own tomato plants in a small wooden 4’ x 8’ greenhouse for his own garden. One night he even heated it with a hair drier. Over time, he grew too many and gave the extras away. Neighbors wanted something for nothing, so bartering took place, and some even paid money. Today, we do not attend the farmers market, but the original Chenier’s Greenhouse, near Escanaba, has over an acre of a greenhouse, and has transitioned to the second and third generation.
Heidi and I, with our four children, bought our business on Jackson Street in August of 2005. Our first selling season was in the spring of 2006. We feel very grateful for the community support we have received, and we look forward to serving you for many years to come.
Sincerely,
Bill & Heidi Chenier Family
